Christmas is an excellent opportunity to spend with family and carry on family traditions, but sometimes doing the same things year after year can get old. If you find yourself longing for some changes in your holiday celebration, here are a few suggestions for Christmas vacation destinations that will please the whole family.
If you still want to spend Christmas with your extended family, see if everyone can reach an agreement on a place to “meet up” for the holidays. You could all go to the beach, for instance, and rent houses, condos, or hotel rooms, and still celebrate together while enjoying an entirely different locale.
One place you could spend Christmas together as a family is to go on a cruise. Each smaller family unit can get their own cabin, and you can meet up at a central location to have your own family celebrations while participating in everything the cruise line has planned. This works best if one family member rents a suite so you’ll have more space for your gift exchanges and such.
Don’t want to take a big trip but still want to do some fun daytrips? Why not take the kids to a hockey game or an indoor water park? It’s something different and enjoyable, but shouldn’t be too pricey. Ice skating rinks also provide an activity your kids probably don’t get to do every day–and once you get the hang of it, it’s very fun.
